Resurrection Lutheran Church - Plano

The Faithful Servant Leadership Organ is the culmination of a vision. In 1994, when the sanctuary was built, an open chamber over the sacristy was specifically planned for a pipe organ. When Shelbie Simmons brought to our attention in the fall of 2011 that Reuter organ Opus 1369 from Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church was for sale, RLC member George Schuler and his family generously enabled us to complete our vision. Purchased from Preston Hollow, the organ was dismantled in 2014 and trucked back to the Reuter Organ Factory in Kansas for rebuilding and refurbishing.

The remodeling of the area planned for the organ began in late July 2015, coordinated and supervised by our project manager, Ron Meyer. Sterling Construction handled the work carefully, cleanly and efficiently. On Sept. 21, 2015, the congregation was invited to help unload the Reuter trucks carrying all the organ parts, chest, pipes and console. The dedication and first use of the organ in worship was Reformation Sunday, October 25, 2015.

Complete Organ Works of Johannes Brahms

As a thank you to the many people who supported the Loeffler's after the injury to their son, Sam, Resurrection Lutheran's Minister of Music, Jim Loeffler, recorded the complete organ works of Johannes Brahms. The final work on this collection is played by Annette Albrecht, who played this very instrument during it's first incarnation at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church.
